For life coaching, meditation and lifestyle management

What is meditation?
Meditation has been practised by people from all races, religions and beliefs for many hundreds of years, yet is as appropriate to our needs today as it was when the art was first developed.

Meditation allows you to consciously decide to ‘step outside’ of your normal stream of consciousness while always remaining aware of the events going on around you. It is a unique personal experience that, with experience, can be practised anywhere.

Provided you’re willing to learn, I can teach you how to meditate and take advantage of the numerous benefits that millions throughout the world already enjoy.

What are the benefits of meditation? What’s in it for me?
Many people find that regular meditation gives them a wide range of benefits, including:

  • The ability to relax totally and sleep better
  • Reduced stress levels
  • Lower blood pressure and improved general health
  • More confidence and balance
  • Clearer thinking
  • Increased creativity
  • Increased energy and enthusiasm
  • Enhanced feeling of contentment and well-being
  • Improved relationships with other people.

You may well experience even greater benefits.

Will meditation conflict with my beliefs?
Meditation is practised by people of all faiths and religions the world over. The techniques that I will teach you will enhance your experience of life and will not create any conflicts.

Am I too old to learn to meditate?
Anyone can meditate, regardless of age or physical fitness. As long as you can follow a few simple instructions, I can teach you how to meditate.

I have restricted mobility, will that prevent me from meditating?
Although some people do find it easier to meditate lying down, you can do it just as successfully sitting in a chair – or even standing up.

Do I need any special equipment?
No. A mat can be useful if you want to meditate lying down, but that’s all.

What happens in a session?
There are four main elements in a session, each of which takes place against a background of calm and tranquillity:

  • Relaxing the body
  • Relaxing the mind
  • Meditation
  • Returning to full consciousness.

I will guide you through each stage and introduce you to invaluable techniques until, after repeated practise, you are ready to meditate alone.

Meditation does not involve contact of any kind and I will respect your personal space at all times.

How many sessions will I need?
Assuming you’ve never meditated before, I recommend a minimum of six sessions to become proficient, plus a follow-up session after three months to ensure that you are gaining the maximum benefit.

How long will the sessions last?
Each session will last 45 minutes, although they can be extended by arrangement.

How frequent are the sessions?
Most clients find that weekly sessions are convenient and allow steady progress.

Where will the sessions take place?
Sessions normally take place in the comfort of your own home, or any other place that you choose. However, I am happy to conduct sessions over the telephone if you find this more convenient.

Can I share the sessions with a friend?
Yes. I am always happy to teach meditation to anyone who wants to learn. Please note that sharing might not be practical for telephone sessions unless you have a loudspeaker facility.

How much do the sessions cost?
The price for each session depends on several factors, including the availability of discounts. These will be fully discussed with you when you make the initial enquiry.
